Grandma's special homemade biscuits and gravy- Sarah's favorite suggested breakfast!!!

Recipe Ingredients for Biscuits and Gravy

1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
2 T. shortening
3/4 c. milk
1 lb. Sausage
1/2 c. flour (as needed)
2 c. milk (as needed)

Recipe Directions for Biscuits and Gravy

  1. Mix together, gooey consistency, roll out.

  2. Cut biscuits.

  3. Bake on greased baking sheet at 500 degrees for 5 minutes. Watch closely, use broiler to help brown tops if needed.

  4. Brown 1 lb. Sausage in large pan. Add enough flour (approximately ½ c. to 1 c.) to soak up all the meat grease. Add milk as needed (approximately 2-3 c., but can take even more) to make gravy desired consistency. Be careful not to add too much milk at once; allow gravy to come to a boil and simmer- it will thicken and then you can add more milk if needed.

  5. Salt and pepper to taste.
