a lovely tender rich biscuit, if you only do seven as I have they are fairly large and very tall! Don't use margarine, it just isn't the same!

Recipe Ingredients for Biscuits, buttermilk, homemade

2 cups flour
1 1/2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 cup of butter
1 cup cold buttermilk

Recipe Directions for Biscuits, buttermilk, homemade

  1. mix flour, sugar, baking powder and soda, salt and cream of tartar together

  2. work in the butter until you have a crumbly mix

  3. add buttermilk and stir in quickly

  4. knead gently and briefly

  5. pat out to 1 inch thickness and cut into biscuits

  6. bake at 425 for 10-12
