A big bowl of big strong carbs and protein, plus all the mono and poly-unsaturated fats a big strong man needs to start the day with. Note: I am a runner, and this breakfast works very well in regenerating glycogen stores after they burn off overnight. It is important to note that this may be an improper breakfast for a 2000 calorie diet, as it's a big chunk of daily values for 2000 kcals. It works better in 2500 or 3000+ kcal diets.

Recipe Ingredients for Big Strong Man Granola

1 large banana
1 gala apple
1/2 cup oatmeal
4 tsp. pumpkin seeds, shelled
4 tsp. peanuts, shelled
1 1/2 tsp. flax seeds
3/4 cup 2% milk, organic

Recipe Directions for Big Strong Man Granola

  1. Pour in the oatmeal

  2. Chop the banana and apple into small slices, add to bowl

  3. Measure out the seeds, or just eye it out. Every seed portion is roughly a handful or less

  4. Mix everything together

  5. Add enough milk so you can see it through all the big strong goodies (Don't swamp it! You want most of your bites to be solids, not liquids)

  6. Optional: A tablespoon of honey, no more, is enough to sweeten everything up a lot. But there's already lots of sugar. Your choice.
