Recipe Ingredients for Big Healthy Buttermilk Biscuits

1/3 cup olive oil
1 tbsp sugar
1 2/3 c all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
1 c lowfat buttermilk
1/2 tsp baking soda

Recipe Directions for Big Healthy Buttermilk Biscuits

  1. Directions

  2. -Combine baking soda and buttermilk, stir and let stand for 5 min

  3. -Sift dry ingrediants together

  4. -Add Wet ingrediants

  5. -Combine

  6. -Roll onto floured surface

  7. -Cut into 6 equal size biscuits

  8. -Using a cast iron skillet, place bisuits just touching in the center

  9. -Using your thumb, gently press down on the top of the biscuits to make a small indentation

  10. -Bake at 475 for 10 minutes
