Recipe Ingredients for Bev's Ham & Beans

1 lb. navy beans, dry
8 cups water
8 oz ham
1 carrot, chopped
2 celery stalks, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1 can chicken broth, low-sodium

Recipe Directions for Bev's Ham & Beans

Start beans according to package directions. Bring beans and water to a boil and then reduce to simmer. Cook about 4 hours. Add ham, mire poix and broth about half way through. Add salt to taste. Add herbs to taste. I use a heaping teaspoon of Mrs. Dash, some parsley, garlic & thyme.
