Recipe Ingredients for Bethie's Chili

1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef (93/7)
56 oz. tomatoes, petite diced, undrained
56 oz. water
12 oz. tomato paste
2 onions, diced
72 1/2 oz. pinto beans
72 1/2 oz. black beans
6 cloves garlic, minced
6 T chili powder
4 t salt
1/2 t pepper
2 t cumin
2 t oregano

Recipe Directions for Bethie's Chili

  1. Brown the ground beef with the onion, garlic, salt and pepper.

  2. Add tomatoes, paste, and water.

  3. Add spices (remembering to omit s&p) and simmer for 30 min. to an hour.

  4. Serve one meal; split up and freeze the rest (about 8 tuppers and 8 baggies of chili for hot-dogs). (Tuppers are 3 C full, or 24 oz.) (Baggies are 3/4 C, or 6 oz., of chili.)

  5. Servings for calories per serving are 3.5 oz. (a little less than a 1/2 C).
