Fudgy & cakey - and, they will totally ruin your diet. But, you know you want one anyway. . . Thanks to King Arthur Flour Co for the recipe.

Recipe Ingredients for Best Brownies Ever!

1 cup unsalted butter
2 cup sugar
1 cup Cocoa
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp vanilla extract
4 large eggs
1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup chocolate chips

Recipe Directions for Best Brownies Ever!

  1. Preheat the oven to 350f.

  2. In a medium-sized microwave-safe bowl, or in a saucepan set over low heat, melt the butter, then add the sugar and stir to combine. Return the mixture to the heat (or microwave) briefly, just until its hot

  3. (about 110f to 120f), but not bubbling; it will become shiny looking as you stir it. Heating this mixture a second time will dissolve more of the sugar,

  4. which will yield a shiny top crust on your brownies.

  5. Stir in the cocoa, salt, baking powder and vanilla. Whisk in the eggs, stirring until smooth, then add the flour and optional nuts and chips, again stirring until smooth.

  6. Spoon the batter into a lightly greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake the brownies in a preheated 350f oven for 28 to 30 minutes, until a cake tester inserted into the center comes out clean. The brownies should feel set on the edges and in the center. Remove them from the oven, and cool on a rack before cutting and serving.

  7. Baking time: 28 to 30 minutes
