Delicious, thick, hearty beef stew.

Recipe Ingredients for The Best Beef Stew

1/2 cup flour
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
3 lbs stew beef, cubed
3 red potatoes, peeled and diced
1/2 lb smoked sausage, sliced
1 cup leeks, chopped
1 cup onion, chopped
4 stalks celery, sliced
1/2 cup chicken broth
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon thyme
3 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons flour

Recipe Directions for The Best Beef Stew

  1. Combine 1/2 cup flour, salt, pepper and beef in a food storage bag. Shake to cost. Place beef in crock pot.

  2. Add remaining ingredients except water and 2tablespoons flour. Stir well. Cover. Cook on low for 8-12 hours, high 4-6.

  3. One hour before serving, combine 2 tablespoons flour and 3 tablespoons flour in a small bowl. Mix until it becomes a paste. Stir paste into crock pot stew.

  4. Cook until thickened.

  5. Eat :)
