Recipe Ingredients for Beginner's Bread

3 cup White Whole Wheat Flour
1 oz Active Dry Yeast
1 tsp Salt, Table
4 1/2 tsp Sugars, Granulated
3 tsp Shortening
1/2 cup Milk, Lowfat, Fluid, 1% Milkfat
3/4 cup (8 fl oz) Water

Recipe Directions for Beginner's Bread

  1. In a large bowl, add: flour, salt, yeast, sugar, and shortening. then add: hot water and milk. Mix together then turn out dough onto a floured hard surface and begin to knead adding flour as you go until, not sticky to the touch. Once kneaded, put dough into a small, buttered bowl; turn dough over so the top is also buttered. Cover and place in a warm spot for one hour. When the time is up punch down dough. Turn out again on to floured surface and knead. Then form the dough into a loaf and set into a buttered bread pan. Cover and let rise for about 30 minutes. After that, score the dough by cutting three slashes across the top with a sharp knife. Put in the oven and bake for about 45 minutes or until golden brown. Turn out bread and let cool on a rack or clean cloth.

  2. P.S. Flour and Cook time differ upon many different factors like weather, and terrain.
