This sauce tastes best if simmered for about 2 hours, uncovered. You can tweak this recipe by adding kidney beans and chilli for a fabulous Mexican meal.

Recipe Ingredients for Beefy Bolognese

500 grams Beef, Ground, 95% Lean Meat / 5% Fat, Crumbles
4 serving Tomatoes, Crushed, Canned
2 medium raw Carrots
1 small Peppers, Sweet, Green
2 cup Soup, Beef Broth Or Bouillon
1.5 full glass (6.0 fl oz) Wine, Table, Red
1 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions
2 clove Garlic
6 tsp Oregano Leaves
1 serving Sweet Basil Leaves
2 tbsp Tomato Paste

Recipe Directions for Beefy Bolognese

Heat some olive oil in a wide based pan and add onions, carrot and peppers. Sautee until onions begin to brown, add garlic and mix well. Put vegetables aside and reheat pan with a little oil again, then put the beef in and sautee until deeply browned - this is important. Add tomato paste, mix well, then add the wine and vegetables and cook on a medium/high heat until wine is reduced by about half and looks a little thicker. Add remaining ingredients and simmer uncovered for about 2 hours. Stir every 30 minutes or so. Check seasoning during this time. Serve with pasta of your choice.
