200 g Beef, Top Sirloin
1 tsp Salt, Table
1 tsp Pepper, Black
0.16 oz Sake Wine (16% alcohol)
1 tsp Soy Sauce
2 tsp Corn Flour, Whole-grain, Yellow
3 medium Onions, Spring Or Scallions
1 Peppers, Sweet, Red
50 g Dried Oyster Mushrooms
150 g Cabbage, Chinese (Pak-choi)
1 tbsp Sauce, Oyster, Ready-to-serve
1 tsp Soy Sauce
2 tbsp Vegetable Oil, Oat
1 tsp Oil, Sesame

Recipe Directions for Beef & Vegetables Stir-Fried in Oyster Sauce

  1. Directions

  2. 1. Slice the spring onions thinly, cut the pepper into bite-sized chunks, chop up the oyster mushrooms and cut the pak choi into 3-4cm strips, keeping the stalks separate.

  3. 2. Mix the beef with the salt & pepper, sake and 1 teaspoon of soy sauce and sprinkle with the cornflour.

  4. 3. Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a frying pan, and add the beef, frying quickly. Transfer to a plate, leaving the oil in the pan.

  5. 4. Put the remaining vegetable oil in the pan, and add the spring onions, pepper, oyster mushrooms and pak choi stalks, followed by the pak choi leaves and cook over a high heat. Return the beef to the pan, then mix together the oyster sauce, ground pepper and remaining soy sauce. Add the sesame oil to finish.
