Recipe Ingredients for BEEF TERIYAKI WITH RED BELL PEPPER

2 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
1/4 cup whiskey, bourbon
3 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp dijon mustard
2 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp black pepper
16 oz sirloin, boneless,cut into 1" pieces
1 red bell pepper, cut into 1" pieces
1 yellow onion, cut into eighths, layers separated
1/4 cup water

Recipe Directions for BEEF TERIYAKI WITH RED BELL PEPPER

  1. Marinate sirloin in soy sauce, whiskey,sugar,mustard,garlic and pepper, overnight.

  2. Coat a nonstick skillet with spray. Heat 1 minute over med-high heat, add red pepper and onion and saute 5-6 minutes or until edges begin to brown. Cover and cook 5-6 minutes longer until tender-crisp. Move to dish.

  3. Recoat skillet with spray. Heat 1 minute over high heat. Remove beef from marinade, reserving marinade, and place in hot skillet. Cook 5-6 minutes, stirring constantly, until liquid has evaporated and a glaze develops. Remove beef from skillet and set aside. Add water to skillet and scrape down sides and bottom of skillet. Boil 1 minute. Add marinade and beef, cook over high heat 3-4 minutes longer or until marinade reaches consistency of a rich glaze. Add vegetables and serve.
