Beef Stroganoff Recipe

Alcohol is burned off in cooking, a small glass of brandy is the usual ingredient but I don't have any at the moment. Usually serve it myself with herby rice, thoug recipe reccomends bread and gherkins

Recipe Ingredients for Beef Stroganoff

500 g beef
300 g mushrooms
1 red onion
1 garlic clove
50 ml sour cream
50 ml red wine
4 tsp olive oil
2 tsp butter
1 tsp Paprika
1 fruit+2-1/8"+dia lemon zest
35 g fresh parsley

Recipe Directions for Beef Stroganoff

  1. Flatten the meat using a rolling pin or a heavy tin. When less than a centimeter in thickness cut into finger lengths.

  2. Mix paprika, the lemon zest and a bit of pepper if you wish all together then rub it into the meat

  3. Chop up the onion and the garlic clove and fry them over a gentle heat with a bit of the oil until they're nice and soft.

  4. Put the heat up and add mushrooms and the butter to the onion/garlic mix. Reserve the onion/mushroom mix.

  5. Add more oil to the pan and add the beef, should only take a couple of minutes for it to be nice and browned.

  6. Add the mushroom mixture back in and stir it all together. Add the brandy or wine and let it reduce.

  7. Remove from the heat and stir in the sour cream and chopped parsely, keep some parsley aside for garnish to serve.
