Hamburger beef stroganoff. For lower calorie version, substitute beef tenderloin, non-fat sour cream, fat-free cream of mushroom soup

Recipe Ingredients for Beef Stroganoff

8 ounces egg noodles
1 lb. hamburger
1 tsp olive oil
1/2 onion
1 clove garlic
1 can (11 ounce) cream of mushroom soup
1/2 c. sliced fresh mushrooms
2 tsp dried tarragon
1/2 tsp worchestershire sauce
1/4 c. sour cream
1 salt and pepper to taste
1/4 c nonfat milk

Recipe Directions for Beef Stroganoff

  1. Cook egg noodles according to the package directions; drain and return to pan to keep warm

  2. Heat olive oil, add meat and cook on medium high heat. Transfer to a warm platter and cover loosely with aluminum foil to keep warm.

  3. Reduce heat to low, add onion and garlic; saute until soft. Stir in mushroom soup, mushrooms, tarragon, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper; simmer until mushrooms are cooked. Add sour cream and the meat. stir until well-blended. Remove from heat and serve over cooked noodles.
