from Whole Foods website - I changed it a little

Recipe Ingredients for Beef Stroganoff

2.34 lbs stew meat
3 tbsp olive oil
1 yellow onion
2 tbsp butter
16 oz mushrooms
1 tbsp tomato paste
2 tbsp flour
1 tsp dijon mustard
2 tsp lemon juice
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar

Recipe Directions for Beef Stroganoff

  1. add salt & pepper to meat then brown & place on plate to side

  2. brown onion, about 7 min, place that on plate to side.

  3. add butter & fry mushrooms on higher heat getting them good & brown

  4. add tomato paste & cook 1 min then add flour & cook 1 min. then slowly add 1 cup water to deglaze. Add 2 more cups water, stirring to make sauce. Bring back to simmer, add lemon juice, mustard & balsamic.

  5. Season to taste with salt & pepper and simmer about 15 - 20 min.
