This is my particular preference of vegies. Use whatever vegies you like/have. Turnip, parsnips or cabbage also lend a unique flavour. Also sometimes I add a can of crushed Tomatoes and 1 cup of broth

Recipe Ingredients for Beef Stew

1 lb lean beef
1 onion
1 tsp olive oil
2 cups Beef Broth Or Bouillon
2 large carrots
2 stalks celery
2 medium potatoes
1 cup peas
1 tbsp flour

Recipe Directions for Beef Stew

  1. Saute onion and brown meat in oil, in large pot

  2. Add broth to pot and bring to gentle boil. turn heat to medium.

  3. Cut carrots, celery, potatoes in uniform bite size pieces and add to pot and bring to boil. Turn heat to simmer and cook for 45 min.

  4. Add peas and cook for another 15 minutes or so...test meat for tenderness. Simmer until meat is fall apart tender.

  5. (Mix flour with a little cold water and stir in to thicken if desired)
