Old-fashioned beef stew with stew meat

Recipe Ingredients for Beef Stew

1 1/2 lbs. lean beef
3 carrots
1 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 small potatoes
2 tbsp. cooking oil
5 cups water
14 ounces diced tomatoes
1/2 cup flour

Recipe Directions for Beef Stew

  1. Coat meat with flour, salt and pepper

  2. Brown in oil in large pot

  3. Add water, bring to boil, simmer 2 hours

  4. Add remaining ingredients and simmer until vegetable are tender.
