Beef stew for the stove top or can adapt for slow cooker for 8 to 10 hours on low.

Recipe Ingredients for Beef Stew

1 pound stew beef
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cups water
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 clove garlic, peeled
1/2 medium onion, sliced
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika
2 large carrots, sliced
2 celery stalks, chopped
3 medium russet potatoes, peeled/chopped

Recipe Directions for Beef Stew

  1. Brown meat in hot oil. Add water, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, onion, salt, sugar, pepper and paprika.

  2. Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours. Add carrots and celery. Cover and cook 30 to 40

  3. minutes longer, stirring occasionally.
