Thick and hearty, but realtively low fat

Recipe Ingredients for Beef Stew

1 lb steak
1 onion
1/4 cup garlic, crushed
1 quart water
1 tbs olive oil
12 oz carrots
12 oz celery
3 large red potatoes
1/4 cup corn starch
1 quart soup stock
8 oz tomato sauce
3 tbs worcestershire sauce
1 pepper to taste

Recipe Directions for Beef Stew

  1. cut beef into cubes

  2. brown in in large soup pot with olive oil

  3. add onions and garlic until slightly soft

  4. add water and soup stock

  5. bring to boil, then lower heat tosimmer for 1.5 hours

  6. add carrots & celery cook 30 minutes

  7. Add all seasoning ingredients

  8. add potatoes and simmer 15-20 minutes, until mostly soft.

  9. mix cornstarch with some water to make slurry then pour it into pot. stir well, bring to boil until thickened.
