This is a yummy stew for cold winter nights and days. It can be made without the dumplings, but make sure you drain some water after it's cooked to adjust for thickness.

Recipe Ingredients for Beef Stew and Dumplings

16 oz Beef
2 large (3" to 4-1/4" dia.) Potatoes
1/2 cup slices Carrots
2 stalks Celery
1/2 medium Onions
2 tsp Pepper, Black
1 tsp Salt, Table
1 tsp Garlic Powder
10 serving bisquick dumpling

Recipe Directions for Beef Stew and Dumplings

  1. Brown meat in dutch oven or similar pan. Drain fat.

  2. Peel potatoes. Cut up veggies into chunks.

  3. Put veggies in pan with meat. Add enough water to cover.

  4. Add salt, pepper, garlic to taste.

  5. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer until veggies are cooked, but not mushy.

  6. Follow dumpling instructions on Bisquick box.
