Recipe Ingredients for Beef Soboro

1 lb lean ground beef
1 tbsp sesame oil
2 large scallions, minced
1 clove garlic, finely minced
2 tbsp ginger root, grated
2 tbsp sugar
1 oz (2 tbsp) sake
3 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp oyster sauce

Recipe Directions for Beef Soboro

  1. Heat sesame oil in a skillet or wok. Add the scallions, garlic and ginger and stir fry until softened. Add the meat and brown well, breaking it up into small pieces.

  2. Add sugar, stirring until caramelized.

  3. Add the sake and stir until evaporated.

  4. Add soy sauce and oyster sauce. Let simmer, stirring frequently, until the liquid is almost gone.
