The orignal recipe from EatingWell.com - no substitutions. Spicyness depends on how much red pepper you add. Excellent sauce over rice or soba noodles. Quick and easy to prepare! Substitutions: Fish Sauce = Oyster Sauce Seasoned Rice Vinegar = Rice Vinegar Bok Choy = Baby Bok Choy or Green/Purple Cabbage

Recipe Ingredients for Beef w/ Shrimp & Bok Choy Stir Fry

3/4 lb beef, lean, trimmed of fat and thinly sliced
10 shrimp, medium, shelled
1 lb bok choy, chopped
4 tsp extra virgin olive oil, divided
1/4 cup rice vinegar, seasoned
2 tablespoons fish sauce
2 tsp cornstarch
1 Red pepper flakes, to taste

Recipe Directions for Beef w/ Shrimp & Bok Choy Stir Fry

  1. In a small bowl, whisk vinegar, fish sauce and cornstarch; set aside.

  2. In wok or large skillet, heat 2 tsp oil. Add beef and stir fry 2-3 minutes or until meat is almost browned. Add shrimp and stir fry another 2-3 minutes until meat is cooked through. Remove meat and all juices to a plate and keep warm.

  3. Heat remaining 2 tsp oil in wok or skillet. Add bok choy and stir fry/toss about 3-4 minutes or until it begins to wilt. Whisk sauce and add to pan and toss to coat. Add meats and all juices and toss to combine. Heat through until sauce has thickened slightly.

  4. Serve over brown rice or noodles.
