Beef with paprika and sour cream sauce served over noodles

Recipe Ingredients for Beef Paprikash

1 lb. stew beef
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 tsp. olive oil
1 cup onion
1 cup red pepper
1 tbsp. paprika
2 tsp. garlic
1 cup chicken stock
1 cup sour cream
8 oz. bow tie pasta

Recipe Directions for Beef Paprikash

  1. Bring water to a boil for the pasta

  2. Add the pasta and cook until al dente

  3. Drain the pasta

  4. In the meantime, prepare the sauce as follows:

  5. Slice the beef into strips

  6. Cut the onion into thin slices

  7. Cut the red pepper into thin slices

  8. Mince the garlic

  9. Heat 2 tsp. of the oil over medium-high heat, then quickly stir fry half the the beef

  10. Remove the beef to a plate, and repeat the process with the other half

  11. Add the other 2 tsp. of oil to the pan, and stir fry the onion and red pepper for 4 minutes or until soft.

  12. Stir in paprika, garlic and chicken stock

  13. Simmer 5 minutes.

  14. Return the beef to the pan and add the sour cream and pasta.

  15. Mix well and serve.
