A tasty and delicious stew of beef with potatoes, vegetables and spices. Best served steaming hot in a bowl and plain white rice.

Recipe Ingredients for Beef Nilaga (a beef stew)

2 small (1-3/4" to 2-1/2" dia.) Potatoes, Boiled
0.5 piece, cooked, excluding refuse(121 g) Beef, Rib, Shortribs
0.25 head raw Bok Choy
0.75 medium raw Carrots
0.25 cup, shredded Cabbage, Cooked
0.5 tbsp Fish Sauce

Recipe Directions for Beef Nilaga (a beef stew)

  1. cook beef brisket in a pot for about 5 minutes

  2. Add the fish sauce and add ground pepper to spice, then mix well

  3. Pour-in water and bring to a boil.

  4. Simmer for 1 to 2 hours (or 30 minutes if using pressure cooker)

  5. Put-in the vegetables starting with the potato and the carrots. Simmer for 5 to 7 minutes

  6. Add the bok choy (Pechay) and cabbage. Cover the pot and turn off the heat. Let it stay for 5 minutes.

  7. Serve hot over a bed of steamed rice. Share and Enjoy!
