Recipe Ingredients for Beef Mac & Cheese Home made

14 oz cheese melt serv 1oz 28g --- ALDI
1 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions
24 oz Beef, Ground, 75% Lean Meat / 25% Fat, Crumbles
29 oz Diced tomato serv 0.5c 127g -- ALDI
6 oz Tomato Paste
4 oz Elbows Macaroni

Recipe Directions for Beef Mac & Cheese Home made

  1. Pan brown 1.5 lbs of Ground Beef on medium-high heat, remove excess fat, be sure beef reaches 160 F.

  2. Bring 5 quarts of lightly salted water to a rapid boil and add 4oz (1/4 box) of elbow macaroni -35, stir and return to rapid boil.

  3. Cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 6 to 8 minutes.

  4. Drain pasta very well.

  5. Put browned beef in 3 qt slow cooker then add drained cooked pasta.

  6. Add 2 cans 14.5 oz diced tomatoes, to spice up substitute, plain diced tomatoes with diced tomatoes w/ Jalapenos.

  7. Add 1 6oz can tomato paste.

  8. Add 8 oz of Velveeta or cheese mate and stir in mix well.

  9. Add diced onion.

  10. Mix all ingredients and cover.

  11. Cook 2-3 hours on high or 4-5 hours on low.
