Recipe Ingredients for Beef Chili

1 large brown onion
2 stalk,+medium+7-1/2"+-+8"+long celery
2 medium carrots, peeled and finely chopped
1 clove garlic, peeled and finely chopped
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp ground coriander
1 pepper red chili
400 g diced tomatoes
400 ml water
500 g beef mince
1 tbsp tomato paste
1/2 cup dry chickpeas
1/2 cup dry Red Kidney Beans
1/8 cup balsamic vinegar
1 (45 g) 1 red capsicum (pepper)

Recipe Directions for Beef Chili

  1. heat large pot and cook the onion, celery, carrots until soft

  2. add the spice and continue to cook

  3. add the tomatoes and water and when simmering, add the beef mince in pieces

  4. continue to cook for about 1.5 hours, adding more water as necessary

  5. add in the kidney beans, chickpeas, capsicum (pepper) and vinegar and simmer for another 30 minutes

  6. serve with rice, greek yoghurt, fresh coriander (cilantro) and grated cheese
