A hearty beef casserole for the winter months.

Recipe Ingredients for Beef casserole

400 g lean beef, cubed
2 onions, diced
4 medium carrots, chopped
300 g green beans, chopped
300 g cauliflower, cut into florets
200 g tomato puree
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 cups beef stock
1 tbsp oil
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2 chili peppers, seeded and chopped
2 tsp basil, dried
1/2 cup parsley, chopped
1 salt and pepper to taste

Recipe Directions for Beef casserole

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 C.

  2. Heat oil in a frying pan. Brown meat on both sides, with salt and pepper.

  3. Add onion, carrots and garlic. Cook until soft.

  4. Add tomato puree, paste, chillies and stock. Bring to the boil.

  5. Add to pan with remaining ingredients and bake covered for 90 minutes.

  6. Serve with parsley over rice.
