Recipe Ingredients for Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry

1 1/2 tsp. peanut oil
1/4 pound beef, lean sirloin
1 cup brocolli or brocollini
1 clove garlic
1/2 tsp. hot red pepper, crushed dried
1/4 sweet red pepper
1 basil leaf
1 tablespoon Hoisin sauce, SunLuck
1 tablespoon soy sauce, Kikkoman
2 tsp cooking Sherry, Sheffield very dry
1 tsp honey

Recipe Directions for Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry

  1. Slice the beef into 1/2" slices. Cut the broccoli up a little and cut the sweet red pepper into small strips, about 1/4" wide and 1" long. (Slice the mushrooms and cut the carrot up into desired shapes.) Parboil the broccoli (and carrots if pieces are medium to large size). Mix the Hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sherry and honey and set aside.

  2. Heat the oil in wok or large frypan over high heat until just smoking. Add beef (spaced apart). Let beef sit so it browns quickly; turn and brown other side....this should be done over high heat and very quickly. Transfer to a plate.

  3. Add the vegetables, garlic, and hot pepper to pan and stirfry 3 minutes. Add the beef and sauce ingredients and stirfry for 2 minutes. Serve, sprinkled with shredded basil leaf.
