Recipe Ingredients for Beef brisket with Caranberry Gravy - 2.5 pounds

2 1/2 pounds beef brisket
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
16 oz. cranberry sauce (whole berry)
8 oz. tomato sauce
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 tbsp. prepared mustard
1 tbsp. paprika
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder

Recipe Directions for Beef brisket with Caranberry Gravy - 2.5 pounds

  1. Mix, the paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Brush on both sides of brisket and marinate overnight.

  2. 2.5 - 4 pound brisket

  3. Rub salt and pepper and place in slow cooker

  4. Combine cranberry sauce; tomatoe sauce; onion and mustard in a bowl. Mix well.

  5. Pour over brisket

  6. Cover and cook on low 3 - 7 hours (or less) until tender - - depending on the heat variance for your individual cooker and the size of the brisket.

  7. I cooked a 2.5 pound brisket in the crockpot for 3.25 hours and it was perfect. Longer would have made it too dry.

  8. Remove and let rest about 15 minutes

  9. thinkly slice across the grain

  10. Skim fat; serve gravy with brisket
