Recipe Ingredients for Beef Braised in Red Wine Sauce

3 1/2 pounds chuck roast, boneless
700 ml wine, red
1 can tomato paste
2 onions, coarsely chopped
5 cloves garlic, chopped
1 tsp parsley, dried
1 tsp rosemary, dried
1/2 tsp thyme, dried
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup pineapple jam

Recipe Directions for Beef Braised in Red Wine Sauce

  1. Split roast in half down the centre; Coat with the 1 tsp. of salt.

  2. Brown the meat over high heat in 1 tsp olive oil. Remove. Add the chopped onions, garlic, tomato paste, spices, and wine. Cook until vegetables are done.

  3. Put beef back into the sauce and roast at 350 degrees for 2 hours.
