Beef Bourguignon Recipe

For Slow Cooker - very, very good!

Recipe Ingredients for Beef Bourguignon

4 1/2 pounds beef
1 cup red wine
1/3 cup olive oil
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp black pepper
10 ounces bacon
2 cloves garlic
2 pounds pearl onions
1/3 cup flour
4 pounds potatoes

Recipe Directions for Beef Bourguignon

  1. Place beef chunks in bottom of crockpot. Sprinkle with flour and stir to coat.

  2. Cut bacon (8 - 10 slices) into large chunks and saute. Add to crockpot on top of beef.

  3. Saute garlic and onion in bacon fat until soft. Add to crockpot.

  4. Mix wine, oil, thyme and pepper. Add to crockpot.

  5. Cover; cook on low 8-9 hours/ hight 6-8 hrs.

  6. Add potatoes to crockpot for last 3 hours of cooking.
