Recipe Ingredients for Beef, Beans, and Hashbrown Casserole

48 ounce baked beans
6 tablespoons natural cane sugar
3 tablespoons mustard
2 1/4 lb ground beef, browned
21 1/2 ounce condensed cream of chicken soup
1 1/2 cups fat free sour cream
2 tablespoons I can't believe it's not butter, softened
2 tablespoons red onion, (freeze dried or lightly sauteed)
1 dash of ground black pepper, to taste
16 ounces shredded hash brown potatoes, thawed
1/2 cup Cheddar cheese, extra sharp, shredded
1/2 cup crushed bran flakes cereal

Recipe Directions for Beef, Beans, and Hashbrown Casserole

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

  2. Mix first four ingredients, (beans through ground beef), and spread over the bottom of the baking dish.

  3. In a large bowl, mix together the soup, sour cream, butter, onion, and pepper. Stir in the hash browns and 1/2 the cheese. Spread evenly over the beef and bean mixture in the baking dish, sprinkle with remaining cheese, and top with crushed cornflakes.

  4. Bake 45 minutes in the preheated oven, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
