Slow cooked beef and barley stew/soup. I use a pan that fries and slow cooks in one.

Recipe Ingredients for Beef Barley Soup

1324 g beef
352 g onion
492 g carrot
15 g garlic
156 ml tomato paste
1 cup pot barley
8 cups water

Recipe Directions for Beef Barley Soup

  1. Dry fry beef (stewing).

  2. Add onions and fry gently.

  3. Add sliced carrots and garlic.

  4. Stir in 6 cups of water (you can make this stock too) and the tomato paste (puree).

  5. Rinse the barley and add to stew.

  6. You can add a few bay leaves and some thyme too.

  7. Cook as long and slow as you can.
