Quick, easy and nutritious recipe for bean burgers. You can serve alone with some veggies, or on a bun with all the fixings.

Recipe Ingredients for BEAN BURGERS

2 cups canned cannelinni beans, rinsed and drained (1 can)
2 cups canned black beans, rinsed and drained
1 medium onion, chopped
1 red bell pepper, finely diced
1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flake
1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
2 egg, beaten
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup vegetable oil

Recipe Directions for BEAN BURGERS

  1. In a medium bowl, mash beans. Add all ingredients to the beans and mix until combined.

  2. Divide into 8 equal parts, and shape into patties.

  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat; use more or less oil to reach 1/4 inch in depth. Fry patties until golden, about 5 minutes on each side.
