Recipe Ingredients for Bean Burger Basic

1.5 cup Beans, Pinto, Mature Seeds
0.5 cup, chopped(125 g) Walnuts, Black, Dried
1/2 cup Rolled Oats
0.5 cup(195 g) Rice, Brown, Long-grain, Cooked
1 carrot (7-1/2") Carrots
0.5 cup, chopped(160 g) Onions
0.125 cup Chickpea Flour (Besan)
2 tbsp(15 g) Tamari Soy Sauce, Brewed in U.S., Organic
1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar, Organic
0.5 tsp Cumin
0.06 cup(136 g) Garlic
1 dash Pepper, Black

Recipe Directions for Bean Burger Basic

  1. Mash the cooked beans by hand or in food processor until 90% of the beans are fairly mashed leaving a few less broken to give more texture.

  2. Mince the walnuts to sunflower seed size. You can substitute sunflower seeds or other nuts for the walnuts if you choose.

  3. Mince the onion fine and grate the carrot.

  4. Add all ingredients to a large mixing bowl and mix well.

  5. Mixture should be sticky and pull together easily.

  6. Form burger patties and let sit on a plate for 10 minutes. This gives the flour time to absorb the moisture and hold the other ingredients together.

  7. Broil on parchment paper or fry in a dry non-stick pan. Turn once to brown well on both sides.

  8. Serve in the bun of your choice or on top of a salad of greens.
