Recipe Ingredients for Basil Pesto

2 cloves garlic
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups basil leaves, tightly packed
2 tablespoons finely chopped pine nuts
1/2 cup olive oil
2 ounces grated parmesan cheese
1/2 ounce grated romano cheese
2 tablespoons boiling water

Recipe Directions for Basil Pesto

Blend garlic, salt, basil, pine nuts, and olive oil in blender or food processor. Blend until smooth, scraping down sides 2 or 3 times. Add cheeses and butter just to incorporate. Add boiling water and process for 1-2 minutes. Serve with freshly cooked pasta or a crusty bread.
