Flavouring for pasta dishes or as a spread. If desired, freeze pesto for up to 3 months. Makes 3/4 cup.

Recipe Ingredients for Basil Pesto

2 cups basil
2/3 cups parmesan cheese
1/2 cup pine nuts
3 garlic cloves
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup olive oil
1 black pepper

Recipe Directions for Basil Pesto

Food processor - finely chop basil, parmesan cheese, pine nuts, garlic and salt. Cover and process to blend until nearly smooth. Add oil and blend until desired consistency. Add black pepper to taste.
