Basil, cheese, oil oil and pine nut pesto

Recipe Ingredients for Basil-parmesan pesto

2 cups fresh basil leaves, packed
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/3 cup pine nuts or walnuts
3 garlic cloves, minced

Recipe Directions for Basil-parmesan pesto

  1. Add to food processor, one at a time, running processor after adding each ingredient.

  2. 3 medium sized garlic cloves, peeled

  3. 1/3 cup pine nuts

  4. 2 cups of fresh basil leaves

  5. 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese.

  6. 1/2 extra virgin olive oil.

  7. Blend until smooth.

  8. Serve over chicken or mixed into pasta or even in place of sauce on a home made pizza
