Yummy sauce for pizza simply quick deliscious can be frozen down for next time you have a pizza. As you only need 1X4th of the sauce, for my pizza go to "Tuna and spinach italian dough pizza" Also servings are 12 as pizza is a 3 slice pizza, i slice per serving 4 3s are 1x12th Hope this is too confusing.

Recipe Ingredients for Basic tomato sauce for pizza

1 tablespoon olive oil
400 grams canned tomatoes, chopped with their juice
1 tablespoon tomato puree
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, chopped finely
1 teaspoon dried mixed herbs
1 salt and pepper, season to taste

Recipe Directions for Basic tomato sauce for pizza

  1. Heat the oil and fry off the onions till soft, then carefully fry off the garlic for about 2-3 minutes.

  2. Now add all the other ingredients and bring up to temperature, then simmer for 20-25 minutes, then if you wish blend until smooth with hand blender or leave chunky for a more rustic pizza.
