Basic recipe for vegetarian split pea soup. Add whatever flavor combos you like!

Recipe Ingredients for Basic Split Pea Soup

2 cups green split peas
3 carrots
1 1/2 onions
3 stalks celery
8 cups beef broth
2 tbsp olive oil
3 cloves garlic

Recipe Directions for Basic Split Pea Soup

  1. Chunk veggies and saute them in oil until brown around edges.

  2. Throw everything into crock pot, cook on low for about 6 hours. Season as desired, I like to use curry powder.

  3. Puree in blender or food processor. One serving is about 1 3/4 cups.
