Classic shortbread recipe from Brown Bag Cookie Mold Co.

Recipe Ingredients for Basic Shortbread

8 tbsp butter
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup flour

Recipe Directions for Basic Shortbread

  1. Cream butter. Add sugar and mix well. Stir in vanilla. Add flour half a cup at a time and mix until fully incorporated. Roll into a log in plastic wrap and chill in the fridge until firm, about 1 hour.

  2. Preheat oven to 325. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Unwrap the dough and slice it into 18 - 20 slices. Place dough slices on cookie sheet about 12 at a time (2 batches) and back for 8-12 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.

  3. Store in a plastic bag or container on the counter or in a cabinet (not the fridge).
