A very basic traditional British scone recipe.

Recipe Ingredients for Basic Scone

2 cup Gold Medal All Purpose Flour
4 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 oz 67% Buttery Spread
6 fl oz Vanilla

Recipe Directions for Basic Scone

  1. Sift together dry ingredients and add butter. Add milk a little at a time and mix with a knife until you have a soft, not sticky dough.

  2. Put on a lightly floured board and knead gently with fingertips 6-10 times to gently flatten into an oblong about 4? wide and 6? long and about 1-1? high. Cut into 6-8 scones, and put on floured oven tray. Bake at 10-12mins at 220C (425F). Break in half and serve with butter. Best same day, especially when warm.
