Recipe Ingredients for Basic Risotto

1 1/2
1 cup water
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup onion
1/2 tbsp olive oil
2/5 cup arborio rice
1/2 oz. romano cheese

Recipe Directions for Basic Risotto

  1. Bring stock to rolling simmer in pan

  2. In separate pan, saute onion in olive oiluntil translucent

  3. Add rice to onion and saute about 1 minute until rice is coated at medium heat

  4. Add 1/2 cup stock to rice. Stir constantly until absorbed. When stock is fully absorbed, continue to add stock 1/2 cup at a time. Total cooking time is about 18-20 minutes.
