Recipe Ingredients for Basic Rice Pilaf

2 c. brown rice
1 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. unsalted butter
4 c. fat free chicken broth
1 t thyme
1/2 t oregano
1/2 t low sodium soy sauce
1 t worcestershire sauce

Recipe Directions for Basic Rice Pilaf

  1. Preheat oven to 325

  2. Chop celery and onions

  3. Saute vegetables and rice in melted butter until the vegetables are tender and the rice is brown

  4. Spoon rice into casserole dish and pour combined chicken broth and seasonings over the rice.

  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes; until rice is tender and liquid is evaporated.
