This is the base for my morning and evening protein shake. I add other things sometimes: cinnamon, berries, vodka (just kidding).

Recipe Ingredients for basic protein shake

1 banana
1 scoop protein powder
1 cup low fat milk
1/4 cup wheat bran

Recipe Directions for basic protein shake

Throw it all in a blender. I actually put two scoops of protein powder in but this site sees that as one by the nutrition data so adjust accordingly. I use a generic shredded whole wheat cereal for my bran but you can use whatever is handy. Oatmeal works good but cooking it makes an extra step. I have also substituted soy milk for the real stuff and it lowers fat but also lowers the calcium so I usually choose the calcium. I buy my bananas in bulk, peel and freeze them. I do the same with my strawberries. It makes the shake a little more cool and creamy if you use frozen fruit.
