Makes 8 servings



Makes a large thick crust pizza. Can be halved to make 2 thin crust pizzas.

Recipe Ingredients for Basic Pizza Dough

2 3/4 cups flour
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp yeast

Recipe Directions for Basic Pizza Dough

  1. Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water. Let stand for 10 minutes.

  2. In a separate bowl, dissolve butter, sugar and salt in 1 cup boiling water. Let stand 10 minutes.

  3. Mix yeast into butter mixture. Add flour to make a soft dough ball. Let rise 5 minutes.

  4. Spread dough onto greased pizza pan. Cover with pizza sauce, cheese, and toppings. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 425.

  5. Serves 8
