A tasty, healthy granola to make at home. Have it as cereal or with some greek yogurt, so yummy.

Recipe Ingredients for Basic Home-made granola

3 cups Oats
1 1/2 cups Mixed nuts
1/2 cup Pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup Sunflower seeds
2 tsp Ground ginger
1 package Mixed dried fruit
4 tbsp Orange juice
1/2 cup Honey
2 tbsp Vegetable oil

Recipe Directions for Basic Home-made granola

  1. Mix all dry ingredients except dried fruit in a large bowl.

  2. Mix all wet ingredients in a small bowl. (Orange juice optional - honey can be substituted with maple syrup, golden syrup, or molasses. And choose whatever type of oil you like! Some melted butter also works.)

  3. Combine dry and wet ingredients. Mixture should be clumping together a little bit, but mostly still crumbly.

  4. Spread mixture over a baking sheet/pan. The mixture is usually about an inch deep for me, that's fine.

  5. Bake at 325 F for 30-45 minutes, or until edges of pan have turned dark brown.

  6. Remove from oven and let cool fully. It may still be sticky when taken out of the oven but will dry and get crunchy as it cools.

  7. Using a spatula or spoon, break up the sheet of granola into chunks of whatever size you like! You may want to leave them a bit larger as they will break down a bit more while you're mixing in the fruit.

  8. Pour the dried fruit over the granola and mix in.

  9. Store in an airtight container and try not to eat all at once! :)

  10. You can use this recipe as a base and all all sorts of stuff, more nuts or seeds, different fruits, a bit of brown sugar, other types of fruit juice or spices....
