Recipe Ingredients for Basic fettuccine alfredo

4 ounces dried fettuccine
1 tablespoon butter
1/3 cup whipping cream
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, freshly ground
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Recipe Directions for Basic fettuccine alfredo

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain pasta and return to pot.

  2. Add butter, cream, nutmeg (and salt and pepper to taste) and parmesan cheese to pasta. Stir until parmesan is melted.

  3. Serve immediately.
