Recipe Ingredients for Basic Fairy Cakes.

115 grams Caster Sugar
115 grams Self Raising Flour
115 grams Butter
2 medium Eggs
1 oz Semi-Skimmed Fresh Milk

Recipe Directions for Basic Fairy Cakes.

  1. Preheat oven to 180c/Gas 4/350F.

  2. Line muffin tins with paper cases.

  3. Beat butter and sugar together until pale and fluffy.

  4. Beat 2 eggs into the mixture, one at a time then sift in the flour and fold in.

  5. Stir in 2 tablespoons milk and then spoon mixture into paper cases.

  6. Bake for about 18 mins until risen and golden and a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.

  7. Decorate as wished. Go on be creative!
