Reduced fat, almost zero sodium basic chili.

Recipe Ingredients for Basic Black Bean Chili

400 grams black beans, cooked
1 cup water
265 grams onion, chopped
65 grams red pepper, chopped
1 tbsp canola oil
435 grams tomato, chopped
1 tbsp molasses
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp garlic
4 tbsp cilantro

Recipe Directions for Basic Black Bean Chili

  1. Soak beans overnight. Cook in crockpot until tender.

  2. Pour oil into pan and sweat onions and pepper.

  3. Add remaining ingredients, except cilantro. Bring to a boil and reduce to simmer.

  4. Cook until onions are clear.

  5. Mix in cilantro. Serve immediately.

  6. Keeps a few days in refrigerator. Will thicken. Add water before reheating.
